A Bit About Me
Texas-born former Marine Matt Young fondly remembered Montana vacations from his youth. Now that the kids are grown, he and his wife Melissa began their 2nd career in beautiful Montana, on the backside of Yellowstone National Park at their new home, Two Rivers Lodge - a fly fishing paradise. Their 5 bedroom, 3 bath home sits at the juncture of two blue ribbon trout fishing rivers, the Stillwater and the West Fork of the Stillwater in rural Nye, Montana, where they live 30 minutes from the nearest small grocery story. The lodge features a large open concept kitchen facing a big main room, fueled by a Blaze King fireplace stove. A huge basement features a game room, bar, and rec area, and is decorated by a unique ceiling collage of feed bags from local ranchers. Outdoors, a patio offers a hot tub and built-in grill, and a stairway down to the river, and the whole home features an outdoor porch lined with rocking chairs to relax overlooking the river and its mountainous backdrop. When they bought the house 10 years ago, it came with a vintage Lincoln Continental, complete with baby blue interiors and its own 8-track player. The Youngs grow their own vegetables on the expansive property, and both have now embarked on second careers in real estate, as well as teaching fly fishing and guiding groups on the river. In this episode, the Youngs take you on an afternoon fly fishing journey. Melissa packs a hearty lunch as they venture out on the river together to see what they can catch. Enchanted by the Brad Pitt movie "A River Runs Through It"? - this is the real fly-fishing life. Episode 103 of "Our Wild Life" - The Young Family, full episode.
