Matt grew up fishing the bays, lakes and streams of Texas. It wasn’t until 1981 that he set foot in Montana and began what today has been a lifelong journey of fly fishing Montana’s waters. From guiding, teaching and coaching beginners to experts on the Big Horn, Missouri, Yellowstone, Madison and Stillwater Matt has accumulated a wealth of fly fishing, gear and bug knowledge over the years of each waterway.

 

One of Matt’s specialties is that of his confidentiality regarding special clients. If your looking for any degree of confidentiality while your visiting Montana then you have found the right Outfitter.

 

In between the years fly fishing Matt served as a Marine in the First Gulf War,  obtained a degree in History from Sam Houston State.

Tom Wolfe has been an active licensed outfitter in the state of Montana since 1987. A third generation Montanan, Wolfe grew up spending summers at his grandfather's cabin where he could often be found wading in the Stillwater River and packing into the Beartooth mountains in pursuit of trout. By the mid nineteen nineties, his outfitting business focused mainly on taking people into the backcountry horseback, where he has shared his love of fly fishing with expert and novice alike. These pack trips have been spent exploring hard to reach blue ribbon rivers, streams and lakes "wetting a line" for native cutthroat, brown, brook, rainbow, and golden trout. Arctic grayling have also been a focus on these adventures.

 

Besides guiding flyfishers, Wolfe is a working artist, specializing in painting landscapes, wildlife and portraiture in oil and watercolor. Many of his fishing guests have custom paintings hanging on their walls, often of themselves casting a line and catching fish in pristine trout habitat. Raised on the streams and rivers of the Stillwater Valley Peyton Langley has been communing with these waters since boyhood.  This intimate knowledge is put to good use tracking down the big Browns and Rainbows that call these rivers home.  With hundreds of hours behind the oars and countless miles hiking from riffle to pool along the banks of the Stillwater there are few as committed to the art of extracting fish with rod and fly.

In his spare time Peyton can usually be found backpacking deep into the backcountry scaling mountain peaks and pulling trout from Montana's remote, pristine lakes and streams.
